The Only Things We Can Bring With Us To The Next Life Are The Ones We Give Away Now In Love.
We can never bring with us anything to the next life. Not even the casket we are buried in. Rich and poor are alike in the cemetery, despite the differences in their tombs or mausoleums. There in one thing, though, that we can bring with us, poor and rich alike to the next life and these are the things we give away now in love. Whether it’s a cup of water given in His name or an artesian well, both will have their reward.
Lord, it’s easier for a camel, you said, to pass through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter your kingdom. Help us to travel light, giving away our excess luggage, sharing with our fellow pilgrims what is needed in our journey to you.
