A star by being a star already gives glory to God. A tree by simply being a tree also gives glory to God. But man needs to “evolve” to something higher than himself, to give glory to God, to be true to his nature which is God’s image. Since he mirrors God anything that does not reflect God, anything that blurs or distorts God’s image is outside the will of God.
Lord, let me always transcend myself. I should not be content in just living a life on the level of what is perceived as natural, instinctive. My nature, my instinct is to become like you. My end, my fulfillment, my purpose lies outside myself, this “human”realm or order. The answers to my deepest longing cannot be found here and now. They can be found only in you.
